  • Jerry Have an old 1979 Dodge motorhome. Sometimes it starts right up & sometimes it doesn't. No spark to the coil. Replaced coil & ballast resistor & same problem. Will let it sit for a few days & it will start right up. Let it sit a few more days & no spark to coil.

  • jim Hi all,, We are looking at a 1974 senator, which I never heard of, but looks to be based on a dodge chassis. Either a m500 or 600. Anyone ever hear of them ? This model is the swinger, class A about 27 feet long. We are fairly sure we are buying it because of the condition it's in, but I am only familiar with the m400 Country Squire that I own and would like any info or links where I can read up a little more on it, as "learning by trial and error" seemed to be the predominate time spent with my last two old campers. Thanks for any help. Jim.

  • Melissa Johnson Melissa Johnson Me and my husband just bought a 1974 Westfalia! We always wanted a VW bus and now we finally have a practical camper. Not too expensive, not to big. It's just right for the two of us. Anyone know of some good places to camp in California? So far we've been using CampingRoadTrip.com to plan our trip from Santa Barbra to Oregon. Thanks!

    • Steven T WebsterOn mine I pushed the window all the way open and really scrubbed out the tracks and rubber....then closed and did the same on the other side. Followed up with a little silicone spray. I know some people have completely removed the windows to clean them.

  • Linda Classic Winnebagos Hello, everyone I don't have a classic winnebago, but I do have a very nice used winnebago. Or so I think it is. My husband & I are first timers. This is our very first motorcoach. We are very excited about having it. Can't wait to take to the road with it. Any info you can pass on to us with regards to being a first timer, we will gladly accept.

    • Steven T WebsterWe've had our motorhome for five years now. The first year it was slow going...trying to learn everything. I just learned to ask questions...a lot of questions and my wife learned to slow down a little and enjoy the pace of RVing.

  • Linda Steven, thank you for sharing that. My coach is 2003, it looks like new inside as well as the outside. My concerns are with the major items on the coach, such as, a/c, water heater, water tanks and supply, refrigerator, furnance, vehicle transmission, a/c, brakes, gaskets & seals, those type things. I did locate a company that would cover most everything including the towing, and the gaskets & seals with a price tag of $2400 for 2 yrs. Just not sure if I would be making an intelligent decision to purchase it. You know how some of these extended warranties are, if something happens, then they have all these clauses that eliminate most everything, so you actually spend more $$$$ than you would if you were not covered. Just wondering if anyone had made the decision to purchase extended warranties....

  • Linda First time motorhome owner. We purchased our MH used 2003. My question to some of you that have been around the block a few times, is it profitable to purchase a warranty from one of the places like GoodSams or Camping World or GoRVing?
    • Steven T WebsterLinda, that depends on a few things. Namely, the age of the coach, it's condition, etc. Obviously, things like towing and loss insurance are smart to have if not covered under your motorhome insurance policy (or homeowners in some cases)...but the warranties on tires, systems, etc only make sense if you need them.
